Intel® Modular Server System Qualified
The Promise VTrak E310s RAID subsystem is qualified for use with the Intel® Modular Server. Featuring dual Active/Active RAID controllers with automatic Failover/Failback capabilities and SAS connectivity,The Promise VTrak E310s RAID subsystem delivers the performance, scalability and affordability that the small to medium business needs for their expanding storage requirements.

Enterprise Class Features for Growing Storage
The Intel® Modular Server provides internal support for up to 14 2.5" SAS disk drives. As data center storage needs grow beyond this, expansion capability is provided through the Intel® Storage Controller which is Intel qualified to connect to the Promise VTrak E310s RAID subsystem.

Active/Active Controllers and I/O Modules
The advanced VTrak subsystem design includes fully redundant, Active/Active hot-swappable controllers and load balanced power and cooling units. All system components are monitored for continuous operation and send instant user notification in case of failure or malfunction. The Active/Active RAID controllers balance the workload across the data paths in normal operation and provide redundant data paths and high availability in the unlikely event of a controller failure.

SAS and SATA Hard Drive Support
Supporting both SAS and SATA drives allows deployments of tiered storage on a single flexible storage platform. Each standard 3U 19" rack unit supports up to sixteen 15,000-rpm 3.5" SAS or 7,200-rpm SATA 3Gb/s drives. This allows the user to customize their storage to reflect the flexibility of the Intel Modular Server. If the application requires large sequential data transfers, like video editing, SATA drives are a perfect fit. For applications that require efficient random access, such as database or web transactions, then SAS drives would provide optimum performance.

VTrak Expansion Chassis
The Promise VTrak E310s RAID subsystem supports the addition of up to four 16-bay expansion chassis, increasing the total storage capacity to 80 drives . Dual I/O modules with 4x wide SAS interconnects provides redundant connectivity, and 12Gb/s bandwidth. The expansion chassis utilizes the same mechanical design as the VTrak E310s RAID subsystem, allowing it to share the same key components.
