Promise Extends the SAS / SATA SuperTrak EX RAID Card Family with a 16-Port RAID Controller

Features Comprehensive Linux OS Support Including Drivers Embedded in the Up-Stream Linux Kernel and Native Inbox Driver Support for All Major Linux Distributions



MILPITAS, Calif., September 24th, 2008 -- Promise Technology Inc., a leading supplier of sophisticated RAID storage solutions for enterprise and SMB customers, today announced general availability for the SuperTrak EX16650 as the latest addition to the SuperTrak EX RAID controller family.

 

The SuperTrak EX16650 provides 16 ports of SAS/SATA connectivity eliminating the requirement for a separate expander in most applications. This RAID controller family provides OEMs, system integrators, value-added resellers, and enterprise customers with cost-effective storage solutions that can meet their storage needs. These controllers are ideal for enterprise data solutions such as enterprise storage servers, network backup, disk-to-disk backup, security and surveillance, video editing, and digital content creation.


The entire SuperTrak line is backed by a 3 year warranty. Customers are also provided with exceptional support programs including 24x7 technical support and advanced replacement, all free of charge.

With this latest release, the SuperTrak EX RAID controller family now officially supports over fifteen different Linux kernel distributions in addition to our open source Linux drivers. Furthermore, the SuperTrak EX family now has native "inbox" driver support in all major Linux distributions including:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x
  • OpenSUSE 11.0
  • Fedora 9
  • Miracle Linux
  • AsianUX Server 3
  • Any open source Linux kernel 2.6.19 and greater

The SuperTrak EX RAID Controller family now consists of five products:

  • SuperTrak EX16650 with 16 internal ports
  • SuperTrak EX8658 with 8 external ports
  • SuperTrak EX8654 with 4 internal/4 external ports
  • SuperTrak EX8650 with 8 internal ports
  • SuperTrak EX4650 with 4 internal ports
